Terms & conditions.
Please read the terms that apply to your chosen service before your appointment.
Hair Extension Terms & Conditions
At Amanda Sutton Hair Extension Specialist, every hair extension service is bespoke and tailored to the individual client. These Terms & Conditions are designed to ensure that you understand the consultation, booking, payment, fitting, maintenance and aftercare requirements associated with your hair extension service.
By booking and proceeding with a hair extension service, you agree to the applicable Terms & Conditions below.
Consultations & Suitability
All new clients require a consultation before a hair extension fitting.
Consultations are approximately 30–40 minutes and require a £10 booking fee.
During your consultation, your natural hair and scalp will be assessed and we will discuss your desired result, colour, length, thickness, lifestyle and the most appropriate extension method.
The health and integrity of your natural hair will always come first. Hair extensions will only be fitted where they are considered suitable for your hair.
We reserve the right to decline or postpone a fitting if we believe extensions are unsuitable or may compromise the condition of your natural hair or scalp.
If more than six months have passed since your consultation and your fitting has not taken place, a new consultation may be required. A further £10 consultation fee will apply.
Bespoke Pricing
Hair extension services are individually priced because the amount, length, colour and method required varies from client to client.
Your price will be discussed and confirmed following your consultation.
Hair Orders & Payments
All extension hair is selected and ordered specifically for each client following consultation and colour matching.
A 50% advance payment towards your hair order is required before the hair will be ordered. The remaining balance is payable on the day of fitting.
Once a bespoke hair order has been placed, reasonable costs already incurred in ordering or preparing hair specifically for your appointment may be deducted if you subsequently cancel, where permitted by law.
Any cancellation charge or amount retained will reflect the reasonable loss incurred as a result of the cancellation.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Colour Matching
Every effort is made to achieve the closest possible colour match to your natural hair.
Hair colour can appear different under different lighting conditions and natural hair can contain several tones. Where appropriate, more than one extension shade may be blended to create the most natural result.
Human hair extensions may change in tone or fade over time. Factors including washing, heat styling, UV exposure, hard water, swimming, products, toners and purple/silver shampoos can affect extension hair.
Colour changes resulting from wear, environmental factors, unsuitable products or treatments carried out after fitting are not considered manufacturing faults.
Preparing for Your Fitting
Unless advised otherwise, please arrive for your fitting with clean, completely dry hair and without heavy oils, masks, leave-in conditioners or styling products around the areas where extensions will be fitted.
If the hair is not suitably prepared, this may affect the fitting or mean that additional preparation time is required.
Cancellations, Changes & Non-Attendance
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice may incur a charge reflecting the loss caused by the late cancellation, including appointment time that cannot reasonably be filled and costs already incurred.
Where the full appointment charge represents the actual loss resulting from a late cancellation or non-attendance, this may be payable before a further appointment is booked.
Where we are able to reduce our loss, for example by filling the cancelled appointment, this will be taken into account.
Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time for your appointment.
Hair extension appointments require a significant amount of dedicated salon time. If you arrive late and there is insufficient time to complete your service safely and to the required standard, your appointment may need to be shortened or rearranged.
Maintenance & Refits
Hair extensions are not a fit-and-forget service. Regular professional maintenance is essential for the health of your natural hair and the continued appearance and performance of your extensions.
Your recommended maintenance schedule will depend on the method fitted, your natural hair, hair growth and lifestyle.
Hidden Weave maintenance is typically recommended at approximately eight weeks, although some clients may require maintenance sooner.
It is the client’s responsibility to book maintenance appointments within the recommended timeframe.
Leaving extensions considerably longer than advised can result in excessive regrowth, matting, tangling, twisting or unnecessary tension on the natural hair.
Additional time required to correct excessive matting, tangling or overdue extensions may incur an additional charge. In some circumstances, removal rather than refitting may be recommended to protect the natural hair.
Hair Supplied or Fitted Elsewhere
For quality control, safety and insurance purposes, we do not fit, refit or maintain hair extensions that have been supplied or fitted by another salon or extension technician.
Hair used for our extension services must be supplied and approved by Amanda Sutton Hair Extension Specialist.
This allows us to be confident in the quality and origin of the hair being fitted and to provide the appropriate aftercare and ongoing maintenance.
Aftercare
Correct home care is essential for maintaining your extensions and protecting your natural hair.
Aftercare advice will be provided and it is the client’s responsibility to follow these recommendations.
This includes appropriate washing, brushing, drying and styling techniques and using suitable products.
Extensions should be brushed carefully and regularly and should not be left wet for prolonged periods. Particular care should be taken around attachment areas.
Failure to follow the recommended aftercare may reduce the lifespan of the hair and can contribute to tangling, matting, dryness, discolouration, slippage or damage.
Heat, Colouring & Chemical Treatments
Human hair extensions can usually be heat styled, but excessive temperatures and repeated heat exposure can shorten the lifespan of the hair.
Any colouring, bleaching, toning, chemical treatment or use of highly pigmented shampoos or products on extension hair is undertaken at the client’s own risk unless specifically recommended or carried out by us.
We strongly recommend contacting us before chemically altering your extension hair.
We cannot accept responsibility for changes in condition, colour or performance caused by treatments or products applied after fitting where these are unrelated to the quality of the original hair or service.
Swimming, Holidays & Lifestyle
Chlorine, salt water, sun exposure, sun cream, minerals in water and excessive heat can affect extension hair and may cause dryness, tangling or changes in colour.
Extra care should therefore be taken when swimming and while on holiday.
Please ask us for advice before travelling if you are unsure how to care for your extensions.
Hair Lifespan
We use premium-quality human hair; however, hair extensions are a wearable product and their lifespan varies from person to person.
As a general guide, our extension hair may last approximately 9–18 months with correct maintenance and aftercare, with some clients achieving longer wear.
This is an estimated lifespan rather than a guarantee.
Hair longevity will depend on factors including home care, heat styling, products, lifestyle, water quality, colouring, maintenance and how frequently the hair is worn and styled.
Natural Shedding
Some shedding during normal wear, brushing, washing and maintenance is expected with human hair extensions.
Your own natural hair also sheds every day. Hair that would normally fall away can remain trapped within extension attachment areas until your maintenance appointment, so seeing natural shed hair during removal or refitting is normal.
Cutting or Alterations by Another Stylist
If another stylist or third party cuts, colours, tones, chemically treats, removes, refits or otherwise alters your extensions, we may be unable to determine the cause of any subsequent problem.
If you experience an issue, please contact us before allowing another person to alter or remove the extensions.
Concerns Following Your Appointment
If you have any concerns about your hair following a fitting or maintenance appointment, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We will arrange to assess the hair and, where appropriate, discuss the next steps.
Please allow us the opportunity to inspect the extensions before removing them yourself or having another salon or stylist work on them. Altering or removing the extensions before assessment may make it impossible to establish the original cause of the problem.
Where there is a genuine issue with the hair or service supplied by us, this will be dealt with in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.
Suspected Hair Faults
If you believe there may be a manufacturing or quality issue with the extension hair, please contact us promptly so that the hair can be inspected.
Where necessary, the hair may need to be removed and returned to the supplier for assessment.
Normal wear and tear, incorrect aftercare, chemical alteration, excessive heat, environmental factors or failure to maintain the extensions as advised are not manufacturing faults.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.
Removal of Extensions
Professional removal is strongly recommended.
Attempting to remove extensions yourself or allowing an untrained person to remove them can result in unnecessary damage to your natural hair.
If your natural hair or scalp changes during the period you are wearing extensions, please contact us for advice rather than waiting until your next scheduled maintenance appointment.
Photographs & Social Media
Before-and-after photographs may be offered as part of your appointment.
Photographs will only be used for our website, portfolio, social media or marketing where appropriate consent has been obtained. If you would prefer not to have photographs taken or used, please let us know.
Our Commitment to Your Natural Hair
The health of your natural hair and scalp is always our priority.
There may be occasions where we recommend changing extension methods, reducing the amount of hair worn, taking a break from extensions or declining to refit them.
These recommendations will always be made with the health and integrity of your natural hair in mind.
Your Consumer Rights
Nothing contained within these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any rights you have under UK consumer law.
Services will be provided with reasonable care and skill and goods supplied must meet the standards required by applicable consumer legislation.
If you have a concern about a service or product supplied by us, please contact us so that we have the opportunity to assess the matter and work with you to resolve it.
Hair Loss Systems Terms & Conditions
At Amanda Sutton Hair Extension Specialist, our hair loss services are designed to provide discreet, personalised solutions for clients experiencing thinning hair or hair loss.
Every client and every head of hair is different. Our Mesh Integration and Meshless Topper systems are therefore individually assessed, designed and fitted according to your needs.
These Terms & Conditions explain the consultation, booking, payment, fitting, maintenance and aftercare requirements associated with our hair loss services.
Consultation & Suitability
A consultation is required before any new Mesh Integration or Meshless Topper system is fitted.
Consultations are approximately 30–60 minutes and require a £10 booking fee.
During your consultation, we will discuss your hair concerns, desired result, lifestyle and the options that may be suitable for you. Your natural hair and scalp will also be assessed.
Where relevant, we may ask about factors affecting your hair or scalp to help determine whether it is appropriate to proceed.
Our hair loss systems are cosmetic hair solutions and are not a medical treatment or diagnosis.
If we believe that your hair or scalp requires assessment by an appropriate healthcare professional before proceeding, we may recommend postponing your service.
We reserve the right to decline or postpone a fitting where we do not believe a system is currently suitable.
Bespoke Systems & Pricing
Hair loss systems are individually designed and priced according to the client’s requirements.
The final cost can vary depending on the type of system, amount and length of hair required, topper or closure selected, colour, density and complexity of the fitting.
Your individual price will be discussed and confirmed following consultation.
Payments & Ordering
Hair, toppers, closures and other components may be ordered specifically for your individual system.
Where a bespoke order is required, an advance payment will be required before products are ordered and your fitting appointment is secured.
The remaining balance is payable on the day of fitting unless otherwise agreed.
If you cancel after bespoke products have been ordered specifically for you, reasonable costs already incurred may be retained where permitted by law.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Colour Matching
Every effort is made to achieve the closest and most natural-looking colour match possible.
Human hair can contain several tones and may appear different under different lighting. More than one colour may therefore be used to create a natural blend.
Human hair pieces and extensions can also change in colour over time. Heat, UV exposure, hard water, swimming, products, toners and purple or silver shampoos can all affect colour.
Your Fitting Appointment
Mesh Integration and Meshless Topper appointments are detailed services and sufficient time is reserved specifically for you.
Please arrive at the time agreed and follow any preparation instructions provided before your appointment.
The time required will depend on the individual system and amount of work involved.
Your comfort is important. If at any point during the fitting you experience discomfort or have concerns, please let us know.
Mesh Integration Systems
Mesh Integration is a bespoke hair enhancement system designed to work with areas of thinning or hair loss.
A mesh base is created and extension hair and/or an appropriate hairpiece or closure is incorporated to create the finished result.
The system requires ongoing professional maintenance and cannot be considered a permanent fitting.
As your natural hair grows, the system will need to be removed, maintained and refitted at appropriate intervals.
Meshless Topper Systems
A Meshless Topper system uses a suitable topper or hairpiece attached without creating a full mesh base.
Where appropriate, additional extension hair may be incorporated to improve length, density or blending.
As with Mesh Integration, this is a maintained hair system and will require regular professional refitting.
Maintenance & Refits
Regular maintenance is essential.
Your recommended refit schedule will be discussed with you and will depend on your system, natural hair growth, scalp, lifestyle and individual circumstances.
It is the client’s responsibility to book future refit appointments within the recommended timeframe.
Leaving a system considerably longer than advised may lead to excessive regrowth, matting, tangling, movement of the system or unnecessary tension on the natural hair.
Where significant additional work is required because maintenance has been delayed, additional charges may apply.
If we believe it would be unsafe or inappropriate to refit the system immediately, we may recommend a break or an alternative solution.
Changes to Your Natural Hair or Scalp
Hair loss and hair growth can change over time.
If you notice a significant change in your hair loss, new areas of thinning, irritation, soreness, broken skin or any other unexpected scalp change, please contact us.
In some circumstances, we may recommend removing or adapting your system or obtaining appropriate medical advice before proceeding with another fitting.
The health of your natural hair and scalp will always take priority over refitting a system.
Topper, Closure & Hair Replacement
Toppers, closures and human hair used within a system are wearable products and will not last indefinitely.
The lifespan of individual components varies according to the product, frequency of wear, maintenance, home care, styling, heat exposure, colouring and lifestyle.
Over time, hairpieces may experience normal shedding, changes in density, dryness, colour fading or general wear.
When a topper, closure or extension hair has reached the end of its usable life, replacement will be required and will be charged separately.
Your stylist will advise you when replacement is recommended.
Aftercare
Correct aftercare is essential to maintaining your system and protecting your natural hair.
You will be given advice on washing, drying, brushing, styling and caring for your particular system.
Please follow this advice carefully and use suitable products.
Sleeping with wet hair, incorrect brushing, excessive heat, inappropriate products or failure to maintain the system as advised can cause premature wear, tangling or matting.
Heat, Colour & Chemical Services
Human hair systems can generally be styled with heat, but excessive temperatures can shorten the lifespan of the hair.
Colouring, bleaching, toning or chemically treating a topper, closure or extension hair can alter its condition and may cause damage.
Please speak to us before making significant colour changes or applying highly pigmented products such as purple or silver shampoos.
Changes or damage resulting from treatments or products applied after fitting are not considered manufacturing faults where they are unrelated to the original product or service.
Swimming, Holidays & Lifestyle
Swimming pools, sea water, UV exposure, sun cream, minerals in water and high temperatures can affect human hair systems.
If you are planning a holiday or regular swimming, please ask us for specific care advice for your system.
Natural Hair Shedding
Natural hair sheds as part of its normal growth cycle.
When wearing an attached hair system, naturally shed hairs can remain within the system until it is removed during maintenance. This can make the amount of hair visible at a refit appear greater than normal.
This does not necessarily mean that the system has caused hair loss.
If we identify anything during maintenance that gives us concern about the condition of your natural hair or scalp, we will discuss this with you.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
Hair loss appointments can require several hours of dedicated salon time and are reserved specifically for you.
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to change or cancel your appointment.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice may incur a charge reflecting the reasonable loss caused by the cancellation, including appointment time that cannot reasonably be filled and any costs already incurred.
Where we are able to reduce our loss, for example by filling the cancelled appointment, this will be taken into account.
Systems Fitted or Altered Elsewhere
For quality control, safety and insurance purposes, we do not normally maintain, refit or take responsibility for systems fitted by another salon or technician.
Please do not allow another person to remove, alter, tighten, refit, colour or otherwise modify a system fitted by us if you are experiencing a problem.
Contact us first so that we have the opportunity to inspect the system and determine the appropriate course of action.
Concerns Following Your Appointment
If you experience discomfort, unusual tension, irritation, unexpected movement of the system or any other concern following your appointment, please contact us promptly rather than waiting for your next scheduled refit.
We will arrange to assess the system and your natural hair or scalp where appropriate.
Please allow us the opportunity to inspect the system before removing or altering it yourself or asking another salon to do so.
Where there is a genuine issue with a product or service supplied by us, it will be addressed in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.
Suspected Product Faults
If you believe there may be a fault with a topper, closure or extension hair supplied as part of your system, please contact us promptly.
The product may need to be inspected and, where necessary, returned to the supplier or manufacturer for assessment.
Normal wear and tear, incorrect aftercare, colouring, chemical alteration, excessive heat or environmental damage are not manufacturing faults.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.
Photographs & Privacy
Before-and-after photographs may be offered as part of your appointment.
We understand that hair loss is personal and that some clients may not wish to be identifiable in photographs.
Photographs will only be used for our website, social media, portfolio or marketing where appropriate consent has been obtained. You are under no obligation to consent to photographs being used.
Where requested and agreed, photographs may be taken in a way that does not show your face or identity.
Our Commitment to You
Our aim is to create a natural-looking solution while protecting the health and integrity of your existing hair and scalp.
Hair loss can change over time, and a system that is appropriate today may need to be adapted in the future.
We will continue to assess your hair at maintenance appointments and will discuss any changes we believe are necessary.
There may be occasions where we recommend altering your system, reducing the amount of additional hair, taking a break or discontinuing a particular method.
These recommendations will always be made with the health of your natural hair and scalp in mind.
Your Consumer Rights
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Services will be provided with reasonable care and skill and products supplied must meet the standards required by applicable consumer legislation.
If you have a concern about a product or service supplied by us, please contact us so that we have the opportunity to assess the matter and work with you to resolve it.
